Popcorn Kernels label basics
Corn and popcorn were not harmful to human health; however, with modern scientific advancements, corn has become toxic. Here are three main reasons why:
- That sounds good, but to protect the company’s interests in corn, it was also altered to prevent seed production in crops after the first or second generation. This modification had an interesting effect on the corn, allowing it to decay from the inside. Further testing revealed that corn induces infertility in rats and creates tumors.
- Sprays – As soon as crops became genetically modified, they became resistant to certain diseases, but they also became weaker than others. Plant viruses also evolved to counteract these defenses, feeding on the heightened sugar levels in corn. The plants resist the chemicals but tend to absorb them into the groundwater and remain embedded in the corn.
- High Fructose Corn Sugar – since corn syrup started to become a favorite sugar substitute and GMO crops were the main supply, corn began to be altered in a way that allowed it to have more than double the amount of fructose compared to its wild cousins.
What Growing GMO Crops Does For Our Planet
GMO corn is not healthy for us or our environment. The sprays used to keep the crop “healthy” damage the ecology and the soil itself. Not only that, but the toxic water also begins to circulate within the natural rain cycle, contaminating clouds and increasing the incidence of acid rain.Organic foods are grown and processed under USDA rules that limit synthetic pesticides and fertilizers and prohibit GMOs and irradiation.[2] Research hasn’t shown that organic foods are significantly more nutritious than conventional foods, though they tend to have lower pesticide residues.[2][4] Health claims on food labels are regulated by the FDA, and only a few are authorized.[5]
